THE NORTHMAN │ News Update ( The Cine Wizard )
The Northman, an action-thriller epic is not so far from screens. This upcoming action film is another venture of talented filmmaker Robert Eggers who is credited for making The Witch (2015) and The Lighthouse (2019). Based on the legend of Amleth, the Scandinavian version of Shakespeare’s Hamlet, its screenplay is written by Icelandic writer, Sjon. It follows a Viking warrior prince, whose father was killed by his uncle. After training and becoming a vengeful warrior, he seeks to have his revenge against his uncle, the antagonist of this film. Alexander Skarsgard is playing the titular character of Amleth. Alongside him, Anya-Taylor Joy is cast as Olga, Nicole Kidman as Amleth’s mother, and Willem Dafoe is cast in a supporting role. it is scheduled to be released in cinemas on April 22, 2022.
