Wish – New Trailer Update | Walt Disney Animation Studios | News Update ( The Cine Wizard)

Walt Disney Animation Studios has just unveiled a new trailer for their upcoming theatrical release, “Wish.” This trailer has made quite a splash, becoming the studio’s most-watched trailer since the promotional teasers for “Frozen 2” back in 2019. Let The Cine Wizard, your ultimate guide to movies and TV shows, bring you up to speed on this exciting development. So, let’s dive right in.

The trailer garnered an impressive 66.5 million views across various online platforms, as reported by the company. It outshone the earlier teaser trailer released in April by nearly 20 million views, making it the most-viewed Disney trailer on TikTok thus far.

In this sneak peek, we get a closer look at Rosas, a magical kingdom ruled by King Magnifico (played by Chris Pine). King Magnifico possesses the extraordinary power to grant people’s wishes within the kingdom. The trailer also introduces us to Asha (portrayed by Ariana DeBose), who serves as the king’s apprentice. However, she soon discovers that King Magnifico doesn’t fulfill most of the kingdom’s wishes. After a disagreement with the king, Asha makes a wish upon a star, leading her to encounter Star, a lively and energetic character. In response, King Magnifico accuses Asha of betrayal, forcing her to go on the run.

In addition to DeBose and Pine, the film boasts an impressive cast, including Alan Tudyk as Asha’s pet goat Valentino, who, thanks to Star, learns to speak like a human. Angelique Cabral takes on the role of Queen Amaya, King Magnifico’s wife. Victor Garber lends his voice to Sabino, Asha’s 100-year-old grandfather, who harbors a wish of his own. Natasha Rothwell voices Sakina, Asha’s mother, while Jennifer Kumiyama brings Dahlia, Asha’s best friend, to life. The ensemble also features Evan Peters as Simon, Harvey Guillén as Gabo, Ramy Youseff as Safi, Niko Vargas as Hal, Della Saba as Bazeema, and Jon Rudnitsky as Dario.

The film “Wish” is directed by Chris Buck and Fawn Veerasunthorn. Buck previously co-directed the beloved 2013 film “Frozen” and its 2019 sequel, “Frozen II.” Beyond being the studio’s latest animated offering, “Wish” holds special significance as it is being released during Disney’s celebration of its 100th anniversary, commemorating its founding by Walt Disney and Roy Disney in 1923. Many of Disney’s classic animated films have explored the theme of making wishes upon stars, with iconic moments like Pinocchio coming to life after Geppetto’s wish in the 1940 film, along with the timeless song “When You Wish Upon a Star,” featured in numerous Disney productions, including the Walt Disney Pictures’ opening logo.

Wish is set to hit theaters on November 24, 2023, just a month before Disney’s 100th anniversary. However, as we’ve seen, many projects have faced delays due to recent global events, and Disney is no exception. Fans are hopeful that this release date sticks, but there’s always some uncertainty. Additionally, it’s likely that Wish will become available on Disney+ in 2024, so fans who can’t secure tickets to potentially packed theaters can relax a bit.
