Titan Submarine – Film Adaptation | News Update ( The Cine Wizard )
MindRiot Entertainment has exciting news in store for movie enthusiasts – they’re bringing us a film that delves into the Titan submarine implosion of June 2023. Yes, you heard it correctly! Hollywood has finally taken up the challenge, and we’ve got all the juicy details for you here at Cinewizard, “your ultimate guide to movies and tv shows”.
In an exclusive announcement from Deadline, E. Brian Dobbins has joined forces with MindRiot Entertainment to co-produce a gripping movie centered around the Titan submarine implosion. The screenplay for this film is being crafted by the talented duo of Justin MacGregor and Jonathan Keasy, with both of them also serving as co-writers for the project. This compelling film promises to explore the events leading up to, during, and after the tragic five-day incident that claimed five lives.
The story begins on June 18 when Oceangate’s Titan submersible mysteriously vanished, prompting a massive search operation led by the United States and Canada. Among the passengers was Stockton Rush, the CEO of OceanGate. It wasn’t until June 22 that wreckage from the Titan was discovered near the Titanic. In addition to this captivating film, MindRiot Entertainment is working on a new docu-series titled “Salvaged,” based on the life of Kyle Bingham, the former mission director at Oceangate.
Kyle Bingham served as Oceangate’s mission director from 2018 to 2023, overseeing two successful expeditions to the Titanic in 2021 and 2022. The docuseries will chronicle Bingham’s thrilling submersible journeys around the world, from the depths of North America’s Puget Sound to the Hudson Canyon and the Abaco Coast in the Bahamas.
Jonathan Keasey, a licensed lawyer turned filmmaker, shared his perspective on the project, saying, “The Titan Tragedy is yet another example of a misinformed and quick-to-condemn system, particularly our nonstop 24/7 media cycle that often rushes to judgment without due process. Our film will not only pay tribute to those affected by the submersible tragedy and their families but will also serve as a platform to address broader concerns about the nature of today’s media.”
According to Deadline, MindRiot Entertainment’s movie will offer a comprehensive look at the events before, during, and after the tragedy. Furthermore, they are developing a docuseries, “Salvaged,” to delve deeper into the unfolding events.
Previously, there were rumors that James Cameron might consider making a film about the Titan submarine, but the celebrated director took to Twitter to strongly deny these rumors, labeling them as “offensive.” He tweeted, “I don’t respond to offensive rumors in the media usually, but I need to, now. I’m NOT in talks about an OceanGate film, nor will I ever be.”
