VENOM 3: Everything We Know So Far │ News Update ( The Cine Wizard )

Venom 3 has been officially announced by Sony. They confirmed that there will be a third installment in the Spider-Man Universe centered around Venom. Fans of Sony’s Spider-Man spinoff movies were thrilled when they got a sneak peek of Venom 3 during Cinema Con 2022. Since then, we’ve received only a few hints about what to expect in this next installment. The Cinewizard “your ultimate guide ti movies and TV shows” is here to update you right away.
In the first film, a bunch of mysterious alien creatures called Symbiotes crash-land on Earth. A wealthy man named Carlton Drake, played by Riz Ahmed, comes into possession of these organisms, believing they hold the key to the future of human evolution. Investigative reporter Eddie Brock, portrayed by Tom Hardy, becomes interested in Drake’s questionable business practices. When Eddie digs too deep, he not only loses his job but also his girlfriend. Months later, Dr. Dora Skirth contacts Eddie, revealing the Symbiotes in Drake’s facility. Through a twist involving Doctor Strange’s spell from “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” Eddie and Venom find themselves in the MCU, suspecting a connection with Spider-Man (Tom Holland). However, they are quickly sent back to their dimension, leaving behind a small piece of the Venom symbiote, likely to stir up trouble for Peter Parker and the MCU. Our first glimpse into the making of Venom 3 came from Tom Hardy’s Instagram post, where he shared that the script for the movie was in progress, possibly even finished. Production for Venom 3 started in June 2023, despite the ongoing writers’ strike led by the WGA. However, things have hit a standstill due to the significant SAG-AFTRA strike that commenced on July 13, 2023. As a result, the project won’t make any progress until both actors and writers return to work. It’s worth noting that the film’s release is scheduled for the summer of 2024, suggesting that Sony remains optimistic about completing the movie, even in the face of these strikes.
For Venom 3, Kelly Marcel, the writer of the first two Venom films, will take on the directorial role, following Ruben Fleischer and Andy Serkis. Marcel will also write the screenplay, collaborating with Tom Hardy, who stars as Venom and Eddie Brock. Both Hardy and Marcel will produce the project alongside Avi Arad, Hutch Parker, Amy Pascal, and Matt Tolmach. Tom Hardy, deeply attached to his character, will have a more significant influence on the creative direction of this film. Juno Temple, known for her role in “Ted Lasso,” will join the cast in an undisclosed leading role. The addition of Chiwetel Ejiofor, who previously played the Doctor Strange villain Karl Mordo in the MCU, is also intriguing. His role is being kept under wraps for now.
As of now, there is no footage or trailer available for Venom 3. Sony has confirmed that the movie will hit theaters exclusively on July 12, 2024. Given the success of the previous films, a theatrical release was expected, with the possibility of a streaming release after its theatrical run.
